By the way, check your AirDrop settings. You can set it to "Contacts Only" so no random person can come in and send you stuff. Go to Settings > General > AirDrop.
A huge mistake lead to a plane being returned to its' gate and police called. A 15 year old teen was very excited about the new class she was taking, medical-biology, so she was talking to her mom all about it. Her mom had just gotten an iPhone so the teen decided to share an image of a mock-up crime acene which pertains to the class over AirDrop.
However, she must have been confused as to what the name of her mom's iPhone was as she sent the photo to a minimum of a dozen passengers who showed it to attendants. At which point, the plane was returned to the gate.
The teen was, understandbly so, very embarrassed and started crying. She did not mean to cause a panic like that—she was just excited about this new class.
The police were called, and Sgt. Kelly had this to say:
“She was telling her mom about the class, and her mom supposedly just got a new iPhone,” Kelly said. “People were a little alarmed by it.”
He added that the girl was “very embarrassed” and “she was actually crying, so we had to console her a little bit — it was OK, it was a mistake.”
The plane did make it to Maui safely, even though a can of pepper spray exploded. This was all a misunderstanding and it had a happy ending.
